Right now, the U.S. government spends $7 trillion a year — but millions of Americans still cannot afford a doctor visit, a college class, or a safe place to live. The American Humanist Party asks a simple question: What if we spent that money differently?

Every individual possesses inherent worth. Governance must expand — not diminish — personal freedom and self-determination. You cannot make free choices when you are sick, homeless, or hungry.

Pillar 02 Reason and Evidence

Policy shall be grounded in scientific consensus, empirical data, and rigorous analysis — never ideology, superstition, or manufactured ignorance.

Pillar 03 Civic Humanism

Citizens are educated participants in democracy, not passive subjects. The health of the republic depends on an informed, empowered, and engaged citizenry.

Healthcare, education, housing, and food are not rewards for being rich — they are rights for being human. No person shall be denied the essentials of a dignified life.

Pillar 05 Moral Responsibility

Morality is the code by which humans improve their own lives without harming others, exploiting resources, or abusing positions of power.

Pillar 06 Planetary Stewardship

The earth is the shared inheritance of all humanity. Its protection is a non-negotiable obligation of governance. Clean air and water are survival issues — not political ones.
